Towards Mixed-Initiative Discursive Networking
نویسنده
چکیده
Tile "mixed-initiative" system-design rationale is explored in the context of networked discourse, in particular in the context of a collaboration model, called DisNet. The frame-based system allows to make contextual relations explicit, but in typical group-projects users can not be expected to formalize the project-context so that it can be used by agents to participate in a collaboration on a higher level. On the level of sub-tasks simple processes can generate a system-behavior that qualifies for collaborative interaction. To achieve model consistency tile model of interaction and the communication structure used by peers are used to colmnunicate system behavior.

Towards a Framework for Design and Evaluation of Mixed Initiative Systems: Considering Movement as a Modality
We propose a framework for design and evaluation of mixed initiative robotic systems, focusing mostly on the robot initiative in the case of a robotic shopping trolley. Throughout, we consider the implications of the movement modality in the robot initiative and the communication that follows it. We illustrate our considerations with our experience in designing and evaluating mixed-initiative h...

Mixed-initiative in dialogue does not mean that either speaker is free to take the lead in the conversation at any time. Rather, who can show initiative, and when, is restricted. In this paper, we define initiative and control as two levels of dialogue phenomena, and give further evidence for our theory of restricted initiative that control belongs to the initiator of a discourse segment. We sh...
متن کاملTowards Mixed-Initiative Rationale-Supported Planning
This paper introduces our work on mixed-initiative, rationale-supported planning. The work centers on the principled reuse and modi cation of past plans by exploiting their justi cation structure. The goal is to record as much as possible of the rationale underlying each planning decision in a mixed-initiative framework where human and machine planners interact. This rationale is used to determ...
متن کاملIdentification of Speaker Actions in Mixed Initiative Dialogue
Today’s state-of-the-art spoken language dialogue systems (SLDSs) are mainly system-directed leaving very little initiative to the user. This paper discusses how to enable controlled steps in the direction of mixedinitiative SLDSs. The discussion is based on experience from the design, implementation and test of system-directed dialogue for a spoken language dialogue system and on first Wizard ...
متن کامل"Networking" a European Community: The Case of a European Commission Egovernment Initiative
Terms such as Network Society or Information Society have gained enormous importance within European policy work and the European Commission’s aim to create and stabilise a European Union or European Community which is innovative and inclusive. Indeed many governments see their responsibility in ensuring the inclusion of the regions they represent in a ‘Networked Society’, and in doing so, ensu...
